Filter Google Searches by Date

The ability to filter web searches using the Google search engine BY DATE is an important media literacy skill. In this 5 minute tutorial, Dr. Wesley Fryer demonstrates how to use the date filter in Google.

Instructions about how to do this are also available in Chapter 14 (“Filtering by Time and Place to Find the Original”) of the free online eBook, “Web Literacy for Student Fact Checkers” by Mike Caulfield (@holden).

This skill was included as a Badgr mini-project in Dr. Fryer’s April 14, 2019 workshop at the ATLIS (Association of Leaders of Independent Schools) Conference in Dallas, Texas, titled, “Filtering the ExoFlood: Strategies for Media and Information Literacy.” All resources from that workshop are available on wfryer.me/exoflood.
